Drumming
Rhythm is in all of us, it's one of the most instinctive reactions to tap along with your favourite tune and many great drummers started off annoying the family at breakfast time busting out beats.

Welcome to the Drum Kit.
An area of sound that is full of power, control and physical feeling
ACOUSTIC AND ELECTRIC
For some a choice, others want both
Up until the 1980's, the only real drum kit was acoustic and although by then technology was developing electric drum machines and kits, there was nothing like the simulation we have today. From a playing and sound reproduction point of view, things have moved on to where depending on the needs and situation, there now is a choice.
Nothing will ever replace the Acoustic drum kit but the electric choice runs more alongside now and if space / volume are an issue in the home and for practice then the electric has to be considered as you can have total volume control along with a smaller set up footprint

RHYTHM BASICS
A combination of feel and counting
At Andy Corby Music a common statement is that rhythm is the one element that links all instruments-drummers live in a world of grooves, patterns, rudiments with an amazing amount of dexterity between the hands and feet but the most important basic principle is keeping in time - secure with a regular pulse.
